A board certified dermatologist in Mount Vernon suggested that I would benefit from some “IPL” treatments, to reduce redness, age spots, and small broken veins on my face. I can't tell you how completely satisfied and delighted I am to have found Island Medical Spa in Anacortes. For years I wanted to clear up the redness and small broken capillaries on my face, especially around my nose and on my chin, but didn't know what to do. While visiting my sister down in Houston TX, I was introduced to the photo facial procedure. It targets the various problems I was having. I loved the treatment but didn't know how I could follow it up after returning home to San Juan Island. Then my hair dresser told me about Island Medical Spa. I set up my consultation and have since had three treatments. The staff is so courteous and professional. Their follow-up calls after treatment shows they really care. The spa itself is beautiful and tranquil, but best of all I have enjoyed hearing the comments, "you look really good!" even though they can't quite figure out why. This spa was reccomended by friends. I went in for my free consultation thinking it would be a very basic appointment. I was so wrong! F spent an hour and a half with me. We discussed my skin and different treatment plans that would work for me. She gave me a ton of samples to try and called me to check in and see how things were working. I went in for a facial/peel a week later and my skin already looks 10x healthier! At my facial appointment F took the time to go over my skin care regimin with me and tweak it. She gave me more samples and invited me to come to an open house explaining different spa treatments. She also called me two days after my 2nd appointment to check on the progress of the facial and see if I had any questions. In addition to my esthitician being so fabulous, the spa itself is gorgeous. I am very particular about cleanliness and style; I was very impressed by this spa. It makes you feel like you have stepped into a spa in New York or Seattle. The design asthetic is very shiek and calming at the same time. I was greeted as soon as I walked in, and offered water, tea etcetera. All of the employees were very put together and professional looking. No one was snobby or aloof. F walked out and greeted me very quickly and showed me around the facility. All of the rooms very very private and well equipped. The bathroom was very clean and had all of the ammenities to freshen up after any spa treatment. F explained eveything she was doing during the treatment and answered all of my questions thoroghly. When the treatment was over she personally walked me out and saw me to the door. I have my next appointment in a week and I am so excited to have found a spa where the customer is number one and the treatment is top of the line. Side note: I am new to this spa but several friends of mine also attend it regularly. I have been told time and again that the massages and body treatments are fab too! I can't wait to make my appoinment for those!

I was lucky to take a morning to be with my mom and enjoy the beautiful facilities and quality 90 minute deep tissue massage offered by the staff at Island Medical Spa. From the beginning I felt as though I were being treated like a princess. The morning began with our choice of a delicious hot or cold fruit and tea elixir which we enjoyed while we were waiting to enter the spa. Inside, we were given our own personal lockers and then lead to enjoy a relaxing food scrub while lounging in plush spa robes. From the beginning my massage therapist Jessica was attentive and kind, making me feel comfortable immediately. The massage experience was an excellent choice towards maintaining and learning about my health. The massage was followed by a lovely shower in a clean, luxurious stream room. I have had a lot of massages and this one was very relaxing. The foot scrub at the beginning was a nice touch but what really made a difference was the fact that Cari, the massage therapist, did not rush through everything and she massaged out all my knots from working on the computer. She worked on my sore muscles, needing out my tight IT band and my strained hip flexors from running/overuse. I really appreciated the fact that she did not rush through the massage to get to an hours time. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed. The receptionist greeted me by name, although we have never met. I was offered, and accepted, a tasty and healthy beverage while filling out paperwork. The reception area was warm and welcoming as well. I was there to redeem a Father's Day Gift Certificate that included a foot scrub, 90 minute massage, steam bath, and a gentleman's facial. I had experienced and enjoyed massages in the past, but was a bit apprehensive on getting the other treatments or "treats" as they turned out to be. I was so delighted to walk in the new home of Isalnd Medical Spa. It is gorgeous and inviting. You walk into an atmosphere of tranquility. The staff is friendly and professional. I have had two massages by two different therapists lately. Both were excellent. You start with a delicious cup of tea before being led to the locker room where you are given a robe and sleepers. Then you sit in the soothing waterfall room while your feet are given a salt rub followed by lotion. Flowers are everywhere. Then the massage. Water is offered too. Afterwards you are treated to the Vichy shower with steam. I opted to wash my hair and use the hairdryer provided. I felt thoroughly relaxed and pampered. I highly recommend this spa!!!
